An auto parts supplier in Gainesville will expand its operation so it can produce gearboxes for wind turbines.
Gov. Sonny Perdue says the new operation by the ZF Group represents a $90 million investment and will employ 215 people when fully operational. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday at the Hall County site.
Construction will soon begin on a facility allowing the firm to produce gearboxes that help turn wind gusts into electricity. Production is scheduled to start in January 2012.
